WHAT YOU’LL DO

The candidate will be responsible for physically receiving goods from suppliers, matching quantities to invoices, and creating Goods Received Notes. They will manage inventory stock by conducting stock takes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining proper record-keeping. He / She will work with warehouse management systems, scanning items, tracking movements, and maintaining accurate records. They will oversee finished goods movement, store arrangement, and cleanliness. Additionally, the role involves clerical duties such as assisting customers, reconciling stock reports, and ensuring data accuracy.

The Role in Brief

An Inventory Clerk is a member of the inventory team, stationed at the warehouse and takes responsibility
and is liable for both the physical movement of goods in and out of the warehouse as well as data
captured in the warehouse management system

Duties

● Physically receiving goods that are delivered by suppliers and confirming that the physical
quantities match the quantities indicated on the invoice/ delivery note as well

● Receiving Raw materials from international and local suppliers

● Writing Goods Received Notes that acknowledge receipt and accepting goods liability.
Inventory Stock Management:
● Taking daily, weekly and monthly stock take data through the warehouse management system and
ensuring that this quantities accurately match the physical count
● Ensuring that there are no variances between goods issued or received into inventory for both raw
materials and finished goods
Warehouse Management Systems:
● Barcoding store items and receiving them into the warehouse management system
● Scanning out goods that leave the company through transfer or dispatch on the warehouse
management system
● Receiving finished products from the manufacturing teams through scanning into the warehouse
management system
● Receiving raw materials against the specific Purchase orders provided.
● Scanning delivery notes, invoices and Goods Receipt Notes into the specified recording
platforms.
Finished Goods Movement:
● Ensuring the physical receipt or issuance of finished products match what has been recorded in
the warehouse management system
● Recording the actual quantities issued and received into a hardcopy checksheet

● Issuing of re-work for recycling by the manufacturing teams from inventory stock
● Receiving of Good Quality customer returns back into the warehouse and ensuring that all this
good are properly scanned
Store Arrangement
● Ensure that all goods are stored in the right locations as assigned on the shared floor plans
● Ensuring that goods are stored in a way that eases scanning
● Ensuring goods are counted in a neat and tidy manner that prevents damage
● Ensuring that goods are organized in a way that eases counting
● Ensuring that goods are organized in such a way that enables the use of FIFO
● Ensuring the cleanliness of the go-down

Clerical Duties

● Assist walk- in customers in viewing and assessing our finished products
● Scanning out walk-in goods when they come in for pick-up
● Reconciling physical stock available to system generated reports to verify running balance
● Ensuring that all data captured is accurate and honest
● Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned from time to time.
Safety
● Taking part in the safety initiatives run in the company such as 5S, Take 5 and so forth
● Reporting and fixing unsafe acts either caused by personnel or processes
● Following the safety procedures, safety motto, safety commandments, safety policies, safety
procedures and practices

Qualifications

1. A certificate in any field or at least two year experience in an inventory management role
2. Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
3. Advanced Computer Skills
4. Basic knowledge of using warehouse management systems
5. Data analysis skills such as using excel formulas, creating simple dashboards
