WHAT YOU’LL DO
The candidate for this position will undertake a diverse array of responsibilities spanning safety, forklift maintenance, and warehouse organization. They will actively engage in safety initiatives, reporting unsafe occurrences, and adhering to safety procedures. Adherence to health and safety regulations while operating forklifts will be paramount. The candidate will maintain the forklift diligently, conduct routine checks, and document fuel usage and breakdowns. They will handle components carefully, operate the forklift for assigned tasks, and contribute to organized warehouse storage. Additionally, the role involves unloading supply trucks, distributing materials, and adapting to various warehouse duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Safety
- Taking part in the safety initiatives run in the company such as 5S, Take 5 and so forth
- Reporting and fixing unsafe acts either caused by personnel or processes
- Following the safety procedures, safety motto, safety commandments, safety policies, safety procedures and practices
- Follow all the health and safety procedures and regulations as outlined by the company regarding handling of forklifts.
- Operate forklift with caution and with total awareness of people and environment around the machine.
Machine Maintenance and Management
- Ensure the forklift is properly cleaned, parked, charged and ready to operate.
- Conducting forklift start up checks and routine check-up daily and weekly
- Maintaining records of fuel consumption and breakdowns to the forklifts
- Always ensure the forklift components, especially the removable electric battery, is appropriately handled, stored and charged as required to preserve its lifespan.
- Using forklifts for the tasks assigned to it by the inventory management and in a safe and in a way that ensure long term use
- From time to time, move inventory and materials in the godowns as instructed, and perform other tasks that require the services of a forklift.
Warehouse Organization
- Organize and stack goods/bales as required in their respective storage places.
Raw material Movement
- Offload inventory from supply trucks and store them in the proper locations.
- Issuance of Raw material to manufacturing teams
- Any other duties assigned to them
Qualifications
- Valid endorsement on the driving license to operate a forklift.
- A valid BCE license
- Highly organized and flexible.
- Safety conscious.
- Able to work for reasonably extended hours when required
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently.
